Back in September, my sisters and their fiances were getting their engagement photos done, so I naturally came along with them. A week or two prior, my sister and I had seen photos all over our instagram feed of this one sunflower field near us so we wanted to see why everyone liked that place so much and arranged a visit to go there.

It’s called Colby Farm in Newbury, Massachusetts which was about 30-40 minutes away from where we lived. We went on a Saturday and it was jam packed. We should’ve known that it was going to be packed since it was a Saturday afternoon. I knew this place was popular since everyone we knew went there but we didn’t think it would be crazy crowded. It took us about 10 minutes to get parking.

Although it is a sunflower field, it’s also a mini farm. There were kids feeding the goats but I felt bad for the goats because they looked so miserable. And it made me feel bad. I personally don’t think animals should belong in public places like zoos, etc. They should be in their natural habitat but that’s a different story.

There were tons of people taking photos, but what else can you do at a sunflower field? I personally am terrified of bees, even if they’re not doing anything. I didn’t want to get too deep into the field so I just stood around the end of the aisles and watched my siblings and their partners take photos with our friend, Lita. Of course, I had my photos taken too.

We didn’t like how crowded it was so we agreed to leave after half an hour and decided to go to a nearby beach, Plum Island in Newburyport, which was about 10-15 minutes away from Colby Farm. I think it took us 45 minutes to find parking because we had no idea where to go.

After we found parking, it was only about a 5 minute walk to the beach. I went in the water and it wasn’t necessarily that cold. You get used to the temperature but the sand is what I would be careful about. When in the water, the sand is like quick sand and will pull you in, so I wouldn’t recommend kids to be unsupervised while playing in the water.

While my sisters and their partners were getting their pictures taken, I just walked around and took pictures of the beach since it was my first time there and in between shots, they took my photos. Honestly, this beach is pretty. It’s a big beach but we were only in one section to take photos so we didn’t necessarily explore the entire beach, but this city does have beautiful beach houses! I was in awe at how beautiful this city was and how gorgeous all the houses were! Safe to say, I had fun looking at everything while we were trying to find parking.

I had a hair stylist style my hair this day and although it didn’t come out exactly how I wanted it, it still looked nice to me. She also did my makeup. I wasn’t too happy about the outcome but I did like it – it’s nice to get your makeup done by someone else once in a while as opposed to you doing your own makeup all the time.

My sister had given me this dress a year ago and I honestly fell in love with it. The dress isn’t too tight but it outlines my body. It gave me a little butt and made it look like I had something. πŸ™‚ I really like the patterns and the colors so it’s honestly one of my favorite dresses! Summer was about to be over so I wore it one last time since it is more of a summer vibe.

I don’t know where the dress is from, but the shoes are from Forever 21!
