Influenster: Origins Voxbox Review

Influenster: Origins Voxbox Review

On March 15th, Influenster sent me an email about doing a survey for an upcoming skin care voxbox. I finished the survey within a couple minutes and then on March 23rd, Influenster said me an email that I was in on the Origin’s first voxbox AND that I was invited to a Launch Party that Origins was having in Cambridge, MA.

I received the box on Monday, March 27. On the app, influenster mentioned that I could track my package but every time I clicked track my package, it said they were still preparing my voxbox, so I actually didn’t expect to see my voxbox this soon. The box is the same box from before, black and small. It was easy opening the box. When I opened it, the first thing I saw was this little post card describing what origins is and that it’s “nature’s skin solutions.” On the other side, it listed all of the products that I was going to receive. And then, there was another postcard for me to RSVP for the launch party and to get a free complimentary mini facial.

All the products that I received are sample sizes. The five products that I received are the High Potency Night-A-Mins which is an overnight renewal cream, Ginzing Moisturizer, Ginzing Eye Cream, Clear Improvement Purifying charcoal mask, and Checks & Balances Frothy Fash Wash.

After I took my makeup off, I used the Checks & Balances Frothy Fash Wash. I really liked it. It didn’t have a scent and it was pretty self explanatory to use. I just put water and a splash of the wash and put it on my face. Afterwards, I did notice my skin was a little bit softer. I’ve been using this every day since I’ve received it and it helped me to remove all of my makeup and it help make my skin softer, since I do have “alligator skin” and with this, it felt like I didn’t have it anymore. I’d give this an 8/10.

I then used the Clear Improvement Purfiying charcoal mask (it’s for pores) a few minutes later. What I hated about the sample size is that it didn’t come with directions, or at least CLEAR directions. I didn’t know how long I was supposed to have this mask on, so I googled in. When I buy (or receive) products, I’d like for the directions to be on the back of the product and this product didn’t have any instructions or directions, so I was disappointed. BUT the product does smell, but nothing bad. It’s just charcoal. When you first apply the product, it’s smooth but then it hardens quickly to the point where you shouldn’t move your face because you will feel the harden mask. So when using this mask, relax your face and don’t try to move it. When you do move it, the mask is harden and it sort of cracks. You’re supposed to have the mask on for 10 minutes but I kept mine on for 20 minutes and then washed it off. It’s supposed to help my pores. It made my skin feel softer but I have yet to see an improvement on my pores and I’ve used this every day since I received it. I’m going to continue to use this to see if I notice a difference but for now, I will give this a 6/10. I do like how easy it is to apply the product and how easy it is to wash the product off.

Afterwards, I used the Ginzing Moisturizer. I love this moisturizer. It smells organic, like oranges. I absolutely adore the smell. I get nervous when using a moisturizer because I do have oily skin but this moisturizer surprisingly didn’t make me feel oily. It was rejuvenating. It made my skin feel EXTREMELY soft and it just made me skin feel alive. I love the scent and this moisturizer. It didn’t make me feel oily at all but it did make me feel refreshed. I give this a 9/10.

Later on that night, right before bed, I used the High Potency Night-A-Mins overnight renewal cream. It has a slight scent. I actually didn’t like the scent but it isn’t too bad. You’re supposed to use this right before going to bed and I did. It helped to keep my skin “calm” by keeping it refreshed and cleansed. It kept me “glowing” and it feels like lotion when you first apply it on. But after it dries down, it doesn’t feel like lotion anymore. I didn’t even feel the product on my face after I patted and dried the product down, so that was good! I did notice in the morning that I felt refreshed and my skin was soft. I just didn’t like the scent but I will continue to use this to see better results, if there are any. I’d give this a 7/10.

I then finally used the Ginzing Eye Cream in the morning for my dark circles. The scent is disgusting but it’s nothing too strong. I have yet to notice a difference in my dark circles and I have very dark circles and puffy eye bags and I haven’t noticed a difference yet. I will continue to use this to see if there are any differences later on, but for now, I give this product a 4/10.

In general, I do love this voxbox. I love skincare and I’ve been trying to branch into it to help with my skin since I do have bad skin. I have bad eczema and I want to be able to control it. In general, this voxbox is 6/10.

I actually really like the charcoal mask and have been using it on and off for a few years but you’re right, it’s hard to see a difference in my skin. It does make it really soft and I like using it when I feel like I need a deeper clean than just my normal cleanser.

Hi Jenn! I agree that it’s much better than my normal cleanser, but it’s still a disappointment that I haven’t seen a difference in my pores yet. Maybe I just need to use it more often and frequently so I’ll definitely do that!

Fantastic sample kit! I have Origins retexurizing mask from b-glowing and absolutely love it. I have been wanting to try several of these products and this may just be the way to do it.
