Travel With Me To: Montreal Biosphere

Travel With Me To: Montreal Biosphere

One of the places my sister and I visited while we were in Montreal was the Biosphere.

There’s free parking and it’s pretty much a museum inside a sphere. It’s cheaper for students. I believe it’s $15 for students, so thank God, I brought my student ID, even though I’m not a student anymore, haha.

It’s not a very busy museum. There weren’t that many people there, but I like how it’s not a touristy attraction. The woman at the front desk was wonderful and explained that two floors were closed due to a new exhibit coming soon.

We spent a total of 30-40 minutes in there because it was a small museum. There was a video that we could’ve watched but we decided to skip it because we really weren’t interested in watching a 30 minute presentation, so we went straight to the exhibits. This museum is geared towards families and mainly children, so children might have more fun at the museum!

The first one was the “Design The Future” where we learned about the earth and the temperature. We learned about precipitation and how the temperature came to be.

The next exhibit was called, “This is Not An Umbrella!” This was an exhibit where we learned about humidity and the factors of it. It was pretty interesting and the exhibit was actually pretty cool, because there were props that resembled umbrellas on the ceilings, and I was just really fascinated by it.

The next exhibit was “What Difference Does It Make?” where we learned more about temperature and how it affects the world.

We then went to the fifth floor and there, we learned about water and the effects. We were also able to view the skyline of Montreal. The view wasn’t spectacular like the Au Sommet but it was still a nice view. We were able to walk around and see a 360 degree view of the city, so it was pretty cool! This exhibit was my favorite part of the museum. And seeing the view of Montreal in a sphere was definitely pretty cool, too!

We finally ended the museum back in the lobby to see the “Spaceship Earth.” We felt like a little kid because there were stickers by the door where we were allowed to take. I took one while my sister took two because she was so excited.

Overall, the place was pretty cool. It definitely is like a science museum and definitely for children because it teaches them about the earth and the temperature, etc. I definitely recommend this to families, it’s very interesting to see and learn about!
