Adventure Activities Everyone Should Try At Least Once

We are always looking for new and exciting ways to brighten up our leisure time, and with the focus on adrenaline, there are many activities that are designed to give you a thrill. Some of these daredevil ideas require a level of skill, but for the purpose of this article, we will focus on activities that anyone can enjoy, and while they wouldn’t be classed as extreme, the enjoyment factor is definitely red line. If you are looking for some excitement during your downtime, here are some great ideas.

  1. Scenic Helicopter Flight – Wherever you might be, there will be tour operators who offer a range of short flights, and if you happen to be in New South Wales, you and your family can experience a Blue Mountains helicopter ride. This has to be the best way to see breathtaking views of the blue ridged cliffs and spectacular gorges which make for an experience you will never forget. The 90-minute flight would include sweeping over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, where you will get a bird’s eye view of the classic Sydney Opera House, then swoop down for a run along Bondi Beach, and don’t forget to bring your camera for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
  2. Hot Air Balloon – This is perhaps the most soothing of our adventure activities, and whether you are hanging over the Swiss mountains or the plains of Serengeti, there is something distinctly romantic about a hot air balloon trip, so if you are planning to pop the question anytime soon, this would be the perfect place to do it.
  3. New Zealand Jet Boat Ride – If you are planning a trip to New Zealand, they are famous for their jet rides down fast flowing rivers, and with Queenstown being the adrenalin capital of the world, there are several routes that are guaranteed to leave you with white knuckles. If you are planning a trip to New Zealand in the future, make sure to check out a list of extreme activities that are on offer in the adventure playground of Queenstown.
  4. Tandem Skydiving – Definitely not for the faint of heart, jumping out of an aircraft at 12,000 feet, while connected to a skydiving instructor is perhaps the most extreme of this list, and if it is adrenaline you are craving, then this one is right up your street. On the day of the jump, the operator will take you through the preparation stages, and with an expert who is securely connected to you, there is little to do except gasp at the sheer speed you are travelling.
  5. Bungee Jumping – This is exclusive to certain tourist hotspots, and is especially popular in New Zealand and Australia, where you can experience 10 seconds of free fall before the thick rubber bungee cord slows you down, and while it takes a certain degree of bravery, it is as easy as falling off a log.

For those who prefer an adrenalin rush to the laid back lifestyle, all of the above activities has their own unique appeal, and if you are planning on holidaying in Australia, the helicopter ride is something not to be missed.
