Travel With Me To: Our Montreal Airbnb

My sister and I decided to book an AIRBNB for Montreal instead of a hotel.

Booking the Montreal airbnb was actually inexpensive. My sister and I didn’t even spend that much – under a couple hundred and it was for 3 nights. There was a convenient store and an ATM around the block, which was convenient for us! And it was about a 5 minute drive to the nearest bar but other than that, everything was about a 10-15 minute drive, which wasn’t too bad.

It was a pretty small place but it was so cute! It was more of a studio apartment because it was technically a one bedroom apartment but the bedroom had no doors. The living room was right next to the bedroom and the kitchen and bathroom were at the end of the hallway. There was also a little porch.

I noticed that apartments in Montreal have stairs leading to the second floor outside of the apartment. Typically, here in the United States or at least where I am, the stairs to the second floor of the apartment are inside the building whereas in Montreal, they’re outside. I think it’s convenient so you don’t have to hear your neighbors walking up and down the stairs and instead, it’s outside.

The apartment was colorful and bright – definitely my favorite part of the apartment. I loved how the main color of the apartment was orange and there were cute decorations on the wall.

The airbnb had a tv but my sister and I didn’t actually watch anything. We just laid in bed or sat on the coach. The bed was actually quite uncomfortable. It was stiff and hard and I woke up with back pain every morning. I wish there was softer blanket but nothing too bad. I think I’m just too picky with beds, but other than that, the place was adorable.

The host was also really sweet. She gave us instructions on how to open the door and where to leave the keys once we left. There was also a binder with recommendations of where to go, where to eat, and she even told us where to go that was close by to exchange our money. She was a total sweetheart. I wish she left us instructions on how to use the heater because there were nights when we were freezing and had to bundle up.

And what we hated about the airbnb was that parking was hard to find. There was only street parking available and we had to drive around the block numerous times to find a spot. We even parked a block away because the street we were on was packed. It was easier to find parking in the morning but it was difficult at night.

Definitely loved my stay in Montreal in general, and I definitely loved the city and plan on road tripping back there.

I haven’t ever used AirBNB but it sounds like it is a good way to go.
I love the layout of this house – and your photos really capture the atmosphere around the area. Seems like you had a lot of fun.

I totally recommend it! It’s a cheaper alternative and there’s more options – you can choose to book a room in someone’s home or the entire place!
