Travel With Me To: Chateau Ramezay

Travel With Me To: Chateau Ramezay

My sister and I visited quite a number of museums when we were in Montreal.

One of the museums we visited was Chateau Ramezay. Tickets are cheaper for students but in general, I think tickets were about $18 per person. The building is very home-like. The building is huge and roomy, but when you walk in, it does feel like a home. The lobby was very small and it was in the same room as the gift shop. Afterwards, the rooms are all right next to each other and it’s definitely very historic.

This museum is located in Old Montreal. It’s on a popular street so there are a lot of tourists nearby and there are a ton of shops around the area. But the actual museum itself, it’s not very crowded. Not that many people were there when we went. It’s good for people who like museums but hate crowded areas. This museum definitely wasn’t crowded at all. And it was pretty quiet.

The museum is pretty much a collection of gifts, and old objects, such as manuscripts, printed works, works of art, paintings, prints and furniture. I think the artwork is amazing and you definitely learn a lot about the history of Montreal. It’s very educational and you get to learn the history of how Montreal came to be and the people from there.

There was an outdoor garden, but my sister and I decided not to check it out. We decided to check out Old Montreal instead.

If you love history and just learning about the history and architecture of a city, this museum is perfect for you. You get to learn about the people of Montreal, what they wore, what they were like, how they look like, what they did back in the day. It’s definitely a learning museum, although every museum is, but this museum is more historical.
