Styling Different Patterns

Styling Different Patterns

I like matching different patterns together.

In this post, the patterns aren’t too different from each other but it’s a start. I paired checkers with stripes. I think styling patterns is easy if you stay close to the color scheme. For example, my stripes are navy blue and light pink. So I decided to wear checkers that matched the light pink. I think styling patterns is easy when you know exactly what colors look good together and what doesn’t. Pink and navy blue look great together, hence why I decided to wear stripes and checkers together. And the checkers are really tiny, which made it easier for me style the two together. I think if the patterns are small and not too extravagant, it makes it easier to style. I love that the stripes go horizontally instead of vertically because it makes styling it with checkers look better, or at least in my opinion. I think checkers and stripes just look great together especially when the color schemes match! Pink and navy blue are my favorite go-to color combination.

My checkered shirt is actually a sleeveless button down from Loft. A lot of my clothes are from Loft because that’s usually where I shop for professional clothing. My button down is long and covers my butt somewhat which is what I was going for. I love the collars and I love the fabric. It’s a pretty thick fabric so although it was a sleeveless button down, it still kept me warm. I love Loft clothing and I just totally recommend it for professional wear. I love the checkered pattern of this button down and I love it even more that it is sleeveless. SIMILAR HERE.

My cardigan is a buttoned cardigan from Forever 21. It is way too small on me, I know! The fabric is a little thick but it’s still fairly thin. If I were to wear a full-length sleeves shirt, the outfit would have looked bulky. The sleeves are a little tight but it was stretchy. I liked pairing the sleeveless button down with the cardigan because it made it less bulky. The cardigan gives off a somewhat cropped look. I personally liked that it looked like a cropped sweater because I love the layering look. I love that the sleeveless button down is longer than the cardigan and it just makes the outfit look so much better. SIMILAR HERE.

My pants are from H&M. They’re somewhat like leggings. I wear them all the time. I love that they are stretchy but they do outline my butt a bit, so that’s why I decided to wear a “long” short sleeves button down. I liked that the top covered my butt. I decided to wear black so that my button down and cardigan stood out.

I paired my outfit with white flats to match the white in my checkered shirt. I like the whole color combination of my outfit and think it worked well together. SIMILAR HERE.

I love this! Mixing patterns can be hard, but it you pull out similar colors from each, it can make it so much easier! Light pink + navy are my fav!
