You can be excited about all the exciting plans you have lined up, can have picked a perfect outfit, and can all-around by ready to rock and roll. And then, disaster strikes. An acne breakout has appeared on your face! Just like last time, and the time before that. It can crush your enthusiasm, and make you want to stay at home. But it doesn’t – no, shouldn’t – have to be this way. By taking a few simple steps, which we’ve helpfully outlined below, you can make acne a part of your history, not your future.
Nail Your Sleep Regime
There’s a reason they call it beauty sleep, you know! The less sleep that you get, the greater your chance of becoming stressed. And stress? Why, that’s one of the main culprits of your acne breakout. Now, sleep is a tricky thing. You can’t will yourself to sleep; that usually makes it worse. If you’re struggling to hit the land of nod, then do the following things: have a cup of green tea (no caffeine!), have a bath, avoid all screens in the hour leading up to bedtime, and read a book.
Watch What You Eat
Your body can all use what you put inside of it. Are you sure that you’re giving enough of what it needs, and less of what it absolutely doesn’t want? If you’re taking in too much sugar, or rice, or bread, then you’ll be on the path towards acne. Switch out these foods for grains and beans and fresh vegetables, and make sure you’re getting some probiotics into your system, too; this probiotics guide will outline all that you need to know. There are some things in life that we can’t control; what we put into our bodies is definitely not one of them.
And What You Drink
Now, we know that water isn’t always the most exciting thing to drink, but what’s more important: temporary blandness on your taste buds, or fresh looking skin? We’re going to wager you’re going to pick your skin every time! Each day, fill up a two-liter bottle and carry it around with you. If you manage to drink it throughout the day, you’ll be well on course to flush out all of those nasty toxins that might one day show themselves on your face.
Keep the Face Clean
There are very few people who have naturally beautiful looking skin; most of it is the result of a daily skin regime that works for them. Moving forward, find your own face cleansing regime. You need to be scrubbing away all the build-up of dirt and grime. Just be sure that you don’t scrub too much: your skin needs to have its natural defenses in tact!
And Relax
Finally, it’s crucial that you relax! It can be easier said than done, we know, but your skin will thank you for it. If you don’t know how to relax, try yoga or meditation; your body and mind will be at peace in no time.
