Give Some Love To These Lesser Known American States!
When people travel to the USA, there’s a tendency to stick with some of the more obvious places. New York, California, etc. And sure, those places are great! You can have some of the most amazing experiences of your entire life in those states. But they’re far from the only options available to the discerning traveller. If you feel as though you’ve seen everything that America has to offer, why not give these lesser visited states a chance?
Idaho
You know what’s frustrating about going to the most popular American destinations? Other people. How many trips to The Big Apple or Southern California have been ruined by the sheer volume of tourists doing the exact same thing as you? Well, Idaho is the perfect place if you want to experience some of America’s beautiful lakes and mountains without having to deal with all of the crowds. With pristine lakes and mountain landscapes that would give California a run for its money, Idaho is the perfect place to go if you need just a little peace and quiet.
Pennsylvania
Natural beauty is something of a theme on this list, but the truth is that the U.S. has a lot of natural beauty to boast about! Of course, that’s not the only reason why you might want to visit Pennsylvania! Checking into somewhere like the Pocono Plaza Hotel, you’re able to choose from skiing down the beautiful mountains or heading into the towns to experience some of the local culture. If there’s one thing that wows more people about Pennsylvania than anything else it’s the fact that you walk into town and the whole place smells like Hershey’s chocolate!
Arkansas
Let’s face it, if you’re going somewhere that’s nicknamed The Natural State, you probably don’t need an explanation as to why. But natural beauty isn’t the only thing that Arkansas has going for it. Whether you want to visit the Clinton Presidential Library or head over the Johnny Cash’s hometown of Dyess, there’s plenty of Arkansas history to sink your teeth into.
Massachusetts
Of course, if you want history and culture then the beautiful towns and striking architecture of Massachusetts may well be just the thing to scratch that itch for you! Not only that but if you go there in the autumn, then you’re likely to enjoy some of the most gorgeous fall colours in the entire country!
Iowa
Believe it or not, one of the best reasons to visit Iowa is for the skiing. Yep, you read that right! If you’re not in the mood to really challenge yourself with some incredibly steep slopes, Iowa is the perfect place for some intermediate skiing that still offers some fantastic thrills!
Now, no one’s going to force you to visit specific states if you don’t want to. However, there really is a great chance that you’re going to find something to love about these kinds of places. Going off the beaten path, a little bit often give you the chance to discover to really amazing places that you might never have even considered visiting before!
