College Fashion Week Recap

On Saturday, I attended College Fashion Week in Boston.

Primark & Her Campus invited me to Boston's College Fashion Week at the Royale and so, I invited my sister and best friend to come with me.

I was told to arrive by 5PM for VIP. Unfortunately, we left right at 5 because we were running late and didn’t make it until 5:45 because of traffic and trouble finding parking. We drove around to try to find street parking but failed. We ended up parking at the parking garage across the street from the venue. The only reason we didn't park there in the beginning was because parking was $25! I texted my campaign manager that I was late and she was cool with it. I texted her when I got in line and she got out and got us. She was super sweet and pretty, too! I was so nervous that they were going to get mad at us for being late but they were so cool with it.

Our goodie bags!

After, we got our 21+ wristbands, we went upstairs and checked in. That’s when I was shocked. After we checked in, they got us TWO BAGS of goodies. I was not expecting that at all. I thought we were just getting a little gift bag, but instead, TWO gift bags. I literally asked, "Wait, this is for us?" And they laughed and said, "Of course!" We were all shocked that we were getting spoiled.

We went inside for the main attraction and there were a few booths there. There was also a booth giving out free cookies and cupcakes. We went straight to the food. Then, we went to my Primark booth because I’m being sponsored by them! Unfortunately, I did not meet the Primark managers. I said hi to a person thinking she worked for Primark but she ended up being another influencer, haha. Because Primark is headlining College Fashion Week, I assume all of the brand managers were behind the stage getting ready. So we just took photos at the Primark booth. They were giving away free scarves and compact mirrors, so of course, I took a couple, haha. And then we went to a couple other booths where we got even more FREE stuff. I think it’s because it was still VIP hour so free things go to the influencers. We also were given a badge to wear that said "press" so it made us feel legit and official. We went to Ulta and one of the managers there just handed us a makeup bag with makeup in it along with an eyeshadow palette. We were just like, “Holy!” We did not expect this at all. My best friend even got a free curling ironer. We were just shocked that we were handed free things. We walked around for a bit and then decided to find a seat.

We decided to sit upstairs because the view was better. Plus, it’s 21+ upstairs with alcohol! We went upstairs, picked a place to put our bags, bought some drinks and then went back downstairs. We just walked around the booths, said hi and took some free goodies before the general public came in. They were also giving out free water and sparkling water, too!

My sister even got her hair done at ULTA! I didn’t want to wait in line so only my sister got her hair done. There was a photobooth for us to take photos but we were impatient and didn’t want to wait, so we just walked around some more and took some free chips and cookies. Their cookies were so delicious.

The fashion show started at 7:45. There were 4 different brands showcasing their fall outfits. Primark was the headline so they were last and my god, their styles were amazing. I saw a few of them already at the Downtown Crossing location in Boston but the fashion show made me want to go back and shop till I drop. I loved most of the outfits. I’m not going to show all of the outfits, just a few that I like. I hope you guys like the outfits too and go shopping at your nearest Primark!

I had a total blast. My sister and best friend had fun, too. I don’t know why but I wasn’t expecting this AT ALL. The entire time I was like, “I can’t believe I’m here.” It was so much fun walking around, saying hi to everyone and just looking at everyone’s beautiful outfits. It was so much fun. And I loved seeing all of the outfits from all four brands. I think the show ended around 8:45, so it wasn't too late.

Thank you Primark so much for inviting me and allowing me to invite my sister and best friend.

ALSO, Primark is having Student Night this Wednesday at their Downtown Crossing location in Boston. They will be handing out refreshments and a contest for a Primark gift card. Come by for some drinks, to shop and to mingle and have fun! We'll be there from 5-8PM. If you see me, don't forget to say hi!

Ipsy: September Review

It’s always nice coming home to an Ipsy package!

I absolutely love and adore this month’s bag. I like how simple it is. I love black and it matches everything, obviously. I do wish it was pink but I love the simplicity and the texture, so I’m happy with it.

The five items that I received this month are tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara, Beauty For Real I-LINE 24-7 Eyeliner in Black Magic, SKINFOOD Egg White Perfect Pore Cleansing Foam, Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo & Smashbox Cosmetics PHOTO FINISH RADIANCE PRIMER

I used the tarte deluxe lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara and it was a decent mascara. It made my eyelashes thicker but not to the point they were noticeable. I’ve kinda given up on mascaras because no amount of mascara will ever make my eyelashes look fuller or noticeable. This was decent and didn’t smudge so I do like it. I give this a 6/10.

I used the Beauty For Real I-LINE 24-7 Eyeliner in Black Magic and I love it! It lasted me throughout the day. I used it on my waterline and it didn’t even smudge. I love that it’s a dark black color because that’s how I like my eyeliners. I give this a 9/10.

I loved using the SKINFOOD Egg White Perfect Pore Cleansing Foam. It didn’t hurt my skin like other cleansing foams because I do have sensitive skin. This helped to take my makeup off and my skin did feel smooth after the wash. I’d give this a 8/10 because I didn’t see too much of a difference in my skin.

I loved the Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo because the colors are so pretty! This lasted me throughout the day. It was pigmented and went perfectly well with my skin tone. I have combination skin and this worked well with my skin type, too. I give this an 8/10.

Finally, I used the Smashbox Cosmetics PHOTO FINISH RADIANCE PRIMER. It was a decent primer. I was able to easily put my foundation on and it glided through. I have no complaints so far. I have combination skin and this worked well. I’ll give this a 8/10

In general, I did like this month’s ipsy products!

Styling Skirts & Bodysuits in the Fall

Who said you can’t wear skirts in the Fall?

I love wearing dresses and skirts year round. My skirt is from Rosegal. I adore the pattern, the color and the style. It’s a pretty thick material so I didn’t have to worry about my underwear showing. The material was soft and stretchy. It also fit me like a glove. I normally buy dresses in one color but when I saw this skirt, I had to get it! It was different from all of the skirts I normally wear and the color is just perfect. I think the color is great for Fall.

I paired this skirt up with a bodysuit from Rosegal. This bodysuit has buttons as the bottom so it was easy getting in and out. The material is thin so I would be sure to wear a bralette, crop top or bra underneath. It’s a thin material so it will not keep you warm in harsh weather. It’s perfect for Autumn weather where it’s not too chilly and not too hot. I love the color – gray is perfect for every season in my opinion. I love the buttons on the side of the arm as well. And I like that the bodysuit isn’t too low cut – you can totally wear this to work as long as you wear a camisole underneath!

The bralette I wore underneath the bodysuit is from Victoria’s Secret. You can see it peaking through but it’s not too noticeable. I would wear a bralette for extra coverage. I wouldn’t wear a bra just because it’s easier to style a bralette underneath and it makes the outfit look nicer.

I paired this up with beige lace flats because beige matches everything. Beige is perfect for Fall as well.

Rosegal also has a ton of floral print rompers. You can check them out on their site to view everything that they have to offer.

Do you guys wear skirts in the Fall too?

DISCLAIMER: Skirt & bodysuit were gifted to me by Rosegal but all opinions are of my own and as always, completely honest.
