Travel With Me To: Jay Peak Ski Resort (Snowboarding)

My family and I went to Vermont for a couple days to go snowboarding. The place we went to was Jay Peak Ski Resort. We went right after Christmas and came home two days later, so this post has actually been delayed a bit!

The last time I went snowboarding was a few years ago and I cut my lip from falling on my face. Needless to say, my first time snowboarding was horrible. I was a little nervous about going again because I didn’t want to cut my lip again so the entire time I was in line, buying tickets, putting on my safety gear, etc., I was doubting myself. I kept thinking, “Should I do it?”

We bought the tickets, goggles, gloves and put on layers and layers of clothing so needless to say, it was too late to back down now. I had so many layers that I didn’t even feel the cold at all. I was pretty warm so I did a good job at securing myself from the cold.

The embarrassing part of snowboarding was that I only went down the hill twice and it was the baby slope! I fell on my ass but not my face so that was good! The view was nice and I took my gloves off to snap a few pictures. I fell on my knee and didn’t know how to stop myself. I couldn’t turn and both times I went down the hill was because I slid down by accident, so it wasn’t my choice to go down unfortunately, haha.

I sat on the ground after the first time I went down the hill and back up and just watched everyone ski and snowboarded down. Even the kids were way better than me! But it was nice seeing families together and everybody having fun.

My sister and her fiancé went on the big slopes while my other sister and her fiancé stayed with me on the baby slope. Snowboarding takes so much energy!

It felt like we were snowboarding for hours but it was really only two hours. We arrived at the ski resort around 9AM and after buying tickets, settling in, etc. we were finally on the slopes by 10AM. I think we stopped to get food by 12:30 and after we ate, we decided to stop snowboarding and go to the water resort.

I’m disappointed at myself for only going down the slopes two times but nonetheless, it was fun and I enjoyed being with my family!
