Travel With Me To: Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
My sister and I were looking for places indoors to have a photoshoot at. (This visit was from a month ago, THIS POST features the photos from our photoshoot.) I googled places in Boston and this was one of the top choices after the Boston Public Library. A couple of the people I follow on Instagram went and I thought the photos were beautiful. When I pitched the idea to my sister and our friend, they agreed and said it would be a great place.
Driving there wasn’t so bad. It took about half an hour. It’s close to Fenway Park and the Museum of Fine Arts. Street parking is the best option but there are parking garages blocks away. Luckily, my sister found a parking spot across the street from the museum, so we didn’t have to walk far!
Photoshoots technically aren’t allowed there but we still took pictures and pretended we were just tourists. One security officer asked if we were having a photoshoot, we just said no and walked away.
Tickets were only $5 with a student ID (which is what we all did) but it’s $15 for the general public and there was a free coat room! Temperature was fairly warm so there wasn’t a need for us to wear our coats.
Honestly, we were in awe at the place. We barely even stepped in and saw the hallway to the entrance and automatically, we were so amazed. Lita kept saying she wanted her room to look exactly like the hallway. It was dark and mysterious!
The center of the museum is a little garden and it’s gorgeous! You can view it on the ground floor or on three different levels. It’s gorgeous at all different angles. We spent about half an hour just taking pictures and checking out just that ONE room. It was our first time and it was more than beautiful to us!
The museum was three floors and each floor had different rooms of different artwork, portraits, etc. We took our time exploring each floor and each room. I thought some of the portraits were kind of creepy looking but in general, I had such a fun time. I definitely plan on coming back because the entire museum is gorgeous!
I totally recommend going to this place because I promise you, you’ll be in awe of everything!
