Styling Sleeveless Dresses for the Office

We just had a snowstorm hit Boston recently but that won’t stop me from wearing a dress!

I know styling sleeveless dresses for the office can be difficult sometimes because you want to remain professional. It doesn’t have to be hard. For me, I like wearing sleeveless dresses with my cardigans. My sleeveless dress that I’m currently wearing in this post is long on me or appropriate length. The dress goes up to my knee so off the bat, the length is appropriate. Make sure that your dress is appropriate length – usually knee length or 1-2 inches above the knee, shouldn’t be more than that, although I do tend to break this rule.

Afterwards, (it’s not shown in any of the photos) I wear a cardigan that is the same length as the dress or longer. The cardigan ensures that it covers my arms so that no one knows my dress is sleeveless. This can be any kind of cardigan. If you prefer a button up cardigan or an opened cardigan, that’s fine. I love long cardigans to go with my dresses because it makes the outfit look cuter and more professional.

As for my shoes, I did wear knee length boots to cover my legs. For anyone that wants to wear shorter dresses to work, pair it up with over the knee boots to cover your legs so that no one can really tell how short the dress is.

This is typically how I style sleeveless dresses for the office. Sometimes, I’ll wear a sleeveless dress without a cardigan in the summer but in general, I do pair them up with cardigans.
