For a lot of you, styling button ups can be fairly easy especially if you work in an office job. But for some people, it can be hard.

When it comes to styling button ups, I’ll wear a button up shirt with a camisole underneath. With this outside, I do have a camisole underneath to tuck into my pants in case my skin shows when I’m sitting down or for whatever reason. My button up is a striped button up and fits me like a glove. The sleeves aren’t too long and it’s not too tight on me. In general, the shirt is not too long on me either since I do have a short torso.

For my button up, I decided to wear a red cardigan on top. Who said office wear had to be boring? I wore a somewhat cropped cardigan on top. The sleeves are shorter than the actual button up. When styling button ups, throwing on a cardigan is a good way to look even more stylish. Make sure that your cardigan’s sleeves are shorter than your button up so that you can fold the button up sleeves over your cardigan for a more professional look. I also like to let the collar hang off the cardigan for a layered but professional look.

As for my pants, I am wearing tight pull up pants. To be more professional, I would aim to wear dress pants but if your office is more relaxed, definitely wear any black pants to go with the top and cardigan.

For my shoes, I am wearing ankle boots to match with the black pants because I wanted my cardigan and button up to be the focal point.

So in general, wear a button up with a collar or try to at least. Then, throw on a cardigan and fold your button up’s sleeves over your cardigan and let your collar show for a layered but professional look.
