Brooklyn Botany Review

I discovered another brand through Palm and it’s called Brooklyn Botany.

For those of you who do not know, Brooklyn Botany is located in, of course, Brooklyn, New York. This brand started after a chance encounter between a budding entrepreneur and a scientist. They are driven by a desire to bring superior beauty products to the marketplace. They combine proven and pure age-old ingredients with their state of the art lab and forward thinking. Their team spent months tracking down the best available elements and have created Brooklyn Botany because of this.

The two products I purchased through Palm are the Blueberry Scrub and Activated Charcoal Shampoo.

I used the Blueberry Scrub first and it smells amazing. The scent isn’t strong which is great for me because sometimes, I have a sensitive nose and strong scents give me headaches. The scent wasn’t strong and was very delicious-smelling (haha). This scrub is basically used to hydrate and detoxify your skin. The salts are genuine, mineral-saturated Dead Sea salts that will slough away dry skin. It is packed with skin-friendly blueberries that will infuse your skin with powerful antioxidants and phytochemicals to fights signs of aging and normalize your skin’s oil levels.

I genuinely love the blueberry scent. I have eczema and really bad scarring on my legs. The scrub did sting my scars a little but nothing that drastically hurt me. The sting was only there the first couple times I tried this product but after my skin got used to it, I didn’t feel the sting anymore. It worked well with my sensitive skin and it was fairly easy to use. I do have dry skin but after using this product, I didn’t see too much of a difference with moisture. I don’t think it made my skin feel that soft but it did help with exfoliating my skin. It feels great on my skin and I will continue to use it. I love using this and I most definitely enjoy smelling this. It smells SO GOOD. It’s also not a strong scent so if you don’t like blueberry, the smell isn’t strong and it doesn’t linger on your body after, so nothing to fear.

As for the Activated Charcoal Shampoo, this shampoo is enriched with activated charcoal to detoxify and cleanse both your hair and scalp. It adds volume to the hair and removes dirt and oil as well. It is gentle for curly and colored treated hair.

I’ve never really tried a Charcoal Shampoo before so this is the first time. I’ve tried a Charcoal conditioner though, so I was excited to try a Charcoal shampoo. Thankfully, it didn’t have a strong scent. There was a slight scent but it wasn’t too bad. I’m not a fan of charcoal scent so thankfully, this wasn’t strong. It was somewhat hard getting the product out but it felt great on my scalp and hair. It didn’t irritate my scalp and helped to make my damaged hair feel better. I have dry and damaged hair and this charcoal did a great job with hydrating it and keeping it “alive.” I do genuinely like this product! Be careful after you wash this product out because it might get messy in your showers! But I love how smooth and shiny my hair felt after I used this product. I have damaged hair so this product didn’t damage my hair more. In fact, it made my hair look healthier, which is definitely what I need for constantly damaging my hair!

In general, I enjoyed using these two products and will continue to use them!

DISCLAIMER: I purchased these products at a discounted rate through Palm but all opinions are of my own and as always, completely honest.
