Come with me to a Stray Kids Concert in Fort Worth, Texas on 3/26/23

This was my first kpop concert so I honestly had no idea what to expect.

I left my hotel, which was only a 10 minute drive, around 6:40ish and got to the venue at 6:55pm. There was no line so I was in and out of security in less than two minutes.

When I walked into the venue, I looked at the merch for a bit and then opted not to buy anything, but I did walk around the venue and let me tell you, everyone dresses up for a kpop concert. I’m not used to that because at keshi concerts, people just don’t care.

As I was walking down to my seat on the floor, I came across a guy who dropped all of his water and food so I decided to help him. He ended up sitting directly in front of me, funny how the world works!

I sat next to a little girl and then a group of people who looked like they were related. I just stayed on my phone the entire time until… stray kids came on!

They played a video right before they went on stage and I honestly can’t even explain the excitement I had. I was shaking, excited and couldn’t believe I was about to see my favorite boys. I had been waiting months for this moment.

And after the video played…. There they were, on stage. I screamed my heart out and danced and recorded almost every minute, oops. But that’s because yes I’m going to both Texas shows, but I wasn’t sure when I was ever going to see them again so I recorded to remember the moment.

The kids played three songs straight before stopping and introducing themselves. I was in awe the entire time and just so happy to be there. Thankfully, the people in front of me didn’t block my view but the people in other rows did with their lightsticks, but it’s fine, bringing lightsticks is normal and I was still able to see!

I just couldn’t believe I was seeing my favorite boys and smiled/giggled the entire time.

They had intermissions! Which I didn’t know was a thing but is a thing in korean concerts. They played videos to keep the audience entertained while they were backstage changing. These videos maybe were 5 minutes long but were so fun to watch and enjoy.

I loved their outfits and energy. They actually talked to the audience! I’ve been to concerts where the artists will say hi and ask how everyone is doing and then proceed to perform. But the kids engaged with the audience, said hi, read signs and interacted with everyone. It was so fun to see them talking to everyone.

Honestly, thought the concert was going to be an hour to an hour & a half long because they didn’t have an opening act, but it was 3 hours long! I’m not complaining though because it meant being able to see the boys longer.

Well, the encore was technically 20 minutes long, which was probably my favorite part of the concert. This is where the audience gets to be shown on the big screen and lucky fans get to dance. Stray Kids weren’t on stage but were backstage watching the fans dance and were cheering them on!

I loved the encore portion so much. After the audience interaction (3 parts – pose, dance, scream), they came on to perform a couple more songs.

And then, it was over but I left the concert so happy and content. Of course, my phone almost died and it took me 30 minutes to get an uber but nonetheless, it was so much fun. It helped me to prepare better for the next day, which you’ll read about later. 🙂

Stray Kids was my first kpop concert and it exceeded my expectations, and was the most magical night(s) of my life.

I can’t wait for their comeback!

Thanks for reading.
