Controlling My Acne Breakouts With Neutrogena – Does it Work?

Most of you guys are aware of how my skin is. I have acne and I’m prone to breaking out. Also, I have scarring from acne. I also have sensitive, oily/combination skin. I’m always open to trying new products to help my acne and breakouts.

Just recently, I was given the opportunity to test out Neutrogena’s products to test out my acne and break outs.

Neutrogena is a popular brand that many of you may already know. Just in case you guys aren’t familiar with Neutrogena, they are headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Neutrogena originally started off as Natone back in 1930 by Emanuel Stolaroff. Fast forward to today, Neutrogena manufactures and markets a line of skin and hair care products. Neutrogena is distributed in more than 70 countries, so most of you should already know Neutrogena.

The two products that I was able to test out are the Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser & Mask and the Deep Clean Purifying Cooling Gel Scrub.

The Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser & Mask is a two-in-one facial cleanser and face mask. This product helps to clean skin without stripping it. Its main responsibilities are to remove dirt, oily & make up. The great thing about this product is that you can either use it as a daily face wash or a weekly face mask. If you use this as a face mask, this product will help unclog your pores. If you use this as a cleanser, it helps to clean off dirt, makeup and oil. Both these products in general help to moisture and maintain soft, healthy-looking skin.

I used this as a mask two times a week after I received it. It’s supposed to help unclog my pores but I haven’t seen a difference with my pores YET. I think if I continue to use this weekly, I will see much more of a difference but I’ve only used this a couple times for a week. My experience is based off a one-week result by the way! My skin does feel a little smoother. I wouldn’t say it feels moisturized but it does help to make my skin feel somewhat soft.

As for a daily cleanser, this does help me to remove dirt and makeup off my skin. Sometimes, I have a bad habit of not removing my makeup entirely. Using this as a cleanser, it does help me to remove the rest of my makeup. I think the only problem that I have with this is that when I use this as a cleanser, my skin does feel dry after. It doesn’t feel too dry. I do notice dry skin patches after my face dries up. So because of this, I put on a moisturizer. So for anyone who experiences this, use a moisturizer afterwards.

For the Deep Clean Purifying Cooling Gel Scrub, this product helps to exfoliate skin without the skin feeling stripped. This scrub helps to remove breakouts while also helping to keep the skin moisturized. This also helps to remove trapped dirt, oily and makeup while helping to make the skin feel purified.

I use this product every single day. Sometimes, I use this product after I use the Deep Clean Purifying Clay Cleanser. Sometimes, I use this product without using the cleanser. This product does help to exfoliate my skin without irritating it. I’ve noticed that my skin feels softer, smoother and moisturized after. As for preventing breakouts, I haven’t seen a difference yet either. This could be because I’ve only used this product for a week but I do use it twice a day. Maybe in another week, I’ll see a difference but in general. I haven’t noticed any signs of improvement on my skin nor does it prevent me from breaking out. I break out easily and still break out even after using this product. I’m assuming it might work after another week or two of using this daily, but in general, no signs of preventing breakouts. But I do love how my skin feels after I use it. This product is great for anyone with sensitive skin as well. This didn’t irritate my skin and does make my skin look somewhat healthier.

The best part about these products is that they are both inexpensive. You won’t have to break the bank in order to have clear skin. They’re both super affordable and work well with sensitive skin. The products are also oil-free and non-comedogenic.

In general, controlling my acne breakouts with Neutrogena was not successful YET but I will continue to use these products.
