DIY/Crafty Gifts For Her & Him

For those of you who are on a strict budget or would rather make gifts for your loved ones, this post make be helpful for you. This goes out to anyone who loves making DIY projects or handmade cards. It will mean a lot to your family members/friends and these are gifts that they will keep forever.

But just in case you are on a budget, you are more than welcome to make gifts instead of buying them. They are more thoughtful but if you aren’t the creative type and you are unsure what to make, hopefully this gift guide will help you with some ideas.

  1. Written Letters/Home Made Cards. Written letters or home made cards are more special and just makes everyone happier. Write down what you love about this person, why they matter to you and how important they are, what you’re proud of, etc. A written letter may mean more to them than you know.
  2. Letter in a Bottle. This is related to a written/home made card but instead, it’s like a message in the bottle. You’ll buy a soda bottle and clean it after you drink it, of course. Then, peel off the label and decorate it with stickers, designs, etc. Then, write the letter, roll it up and put it in the bottle for a “message in the bottle” feeling.
  3. Photo Frame of you and the loved one. This will involve money, of course. You can buy a plain photo frame and decorate it or you can buy a fancy one. Sometimes, I like to be secretive and include a written letter in the back for those who may want to open up the frame and change the photo. Of course, the person ends up not noticing for a few months but it’s still a cute find for them so if you want to include a secret letter in the frame, your friend/family will love that!
  4. 52 Reasons Why I love You Card Deck. This one is the most popular and most likely, the most cliche but it’s still cute and effective. Buy a deck of card or make your own and decorate each card with stickers. Then, write on the card with different reasons why you love them. Each card is a different reason why you love them.
  5. Box of photos/letters. A long time ago, I created this box of photos/letters for a previous boyfriend. I made the box through colored paper and computer paper but if it’s easier to just buy a box, you’re more than welcome to. In this box, you’ll put photos of you and your friends/loved ones and on the back of the photo, write what you love about the person or your favorite memories.
  6. Love Coupons. These are the most popular where you would give coupons to your loved ones with favors you’d to. They don’t have to be called “love” coupons. They can be “friendship” coupons or “favor coupons,” that include “one coupon for a backrub” or “one coupon for a free dinner” or anything related to the person and what you can do for them.
  7. Anything knitted. If you like to knit or sew, you can try knitting a blanket, sweater, scarf, mittens, etc. for your loved ones to keep them warm this winter!
  8. DIY notebooks. You can create an entire notebook/planner/binder for your loved one. You can use a binder to include loose-leaf paper or you can create the “book” yourself with your own paper, hole-punching the paper, and buying spiral winds to keep the book together. You can use paint and cardboard stock to create the cover and you can use colored paper for the insides. Be creative! This is great for people who love to journal or write anything down.
  9. DIY Jewelry. If you’re crafty or interesting into crafting, you can create your own jewelry for your loved ones. This can be pearled necklaces or tassel earrings. You can find all the materials you need at Michael’s, Staples, Joann’s, etc.
  10. Ugly sweater. The ugly sweater is perfect for the winter or any winter parties that you may have. You can buy a plain shirt or sweater from Michael’s or any craft store. Then, decorate it with whatever sparkles, colors, paint, stickers, etc. that you may need.
  11. Mason Jar. You would first buy it at Walmart or any craft store. Then, decorate the outside with whatever stickers, paint, etc. that you want. Finally, put in whatever you like in the jar. It can be chocolate, candy, home made cards, or anything like that.
  12. Photo album. I love looking through photo albums and reminiscing about the good times. You can buy a photo album and just include all of your favorite memories.
  13. Scrapbook. For all of the crafty babies out there, a scrapbook is a perfect way to showcase all the memories you’ve had and so forth. Scrapbooks are a perfect way to be creative and to show your love and appreciation to your family and friends.
  14. Jewelry Box. You can create your own jewelry box through clay and then, decorate it with paint, sharpies, etc.
  15. Desserts. If you love to bake, why not bake them cookies, cupcakes, cheesecakes, etc. Everyone loves desserts and yummy treats so definitely bake them something delicious.
  16. Throw pillows. You can create and design your own pillows. You can use different fabrics from any fabric store to create the perfect, most comfortable pillows for your loved ones.
  17. Jewelry Organizer. Related to a jewelry box, you can create an organizer instead with barbed wires or anything SAFE for them to stay organized.
  18. Stickers. If you’re into photoshop or illustrator, you can design your own stickers and then print them out into sticker paper for your loved ones!
  19. Monogrammed Mug or anything monogrammed. WHO DOESN’T LOVE MONOGRAMMED THINGS? Monogram a mug with their initials or a notebook or anything really with their names or initials. It’ll be amazing!
  20. Mouse Pad. Create a mouse pad with a photo of you and your loved one. Whenever they’re doing work, they’ll see it and think of you!

These are the top 20 gifts that I personally love but feel free to comment down below with any ideas that you have and I’d love to include them into the list!
