North America is truly one of the most spectacular places in the world when you want an abundance of incredible sites and places to explore. Some of the world’s most stunning sights are here; you can see amazing canyons, some of the world’s largest caves, the Northern lights, and so much more.

If you’re looking into exploring North America, here are some of the most spectacular sites that you can visit:

Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, USA

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center near Yellowstone is a sanctuary for orphaned wildlife. This park is set up to mimic the surrounding wilderness, so it offers one of the best chances to see North America’s large predators in a natural setting.

Hamilton Pool, Texas, USA

This natural pool was created because the ground collapsed, and is an ever popular attraction in North America. It is surrounded with limestone walls and the pool also features a waterfall, which plunges down from the ceiling. Visitors reach the site by completing a beautiful trail and then have a dip in the water. It’s a gorgeous setting and great for hiking opportunities.

Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, Canada

Remote, wild, and epically beautiful, Haida Gwaii is something like you’ve never seen before. Formally called the Queen Charlotte Islands, this archipelago offers a getaway that will leave you breathless. You can take a paddle on the water when you sign up for a kayaking tour through Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve. There’s nothing like a hike along the mossy Golden Spruce Trail either, which is more than suitable for your social media pages.

Canyonlands National Park, USA

Utah’s Canyonlands National Park is a mixture of rivers, canyons, mesas, and arches. Whether you want to raft the Colorado River, or explore the landscape in a Jeep, Canyonlands is a true playground for adventurers.

McWay Falls, Big Sur, California, USA

In Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, also known as a ‘tidefalls’, you’ll find Big Sur. The beach itself can be reached by boat, and it’s worth mentioning you can’t get there by land.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon, USA

You’ll find this in the unspoiled Columbia River Gorge; a waterfall that is one of the most popular and known attractions in North America. You’re best off getting there from Benson Bridge, which is situated between the cascades. If you visit, you’ll see unspoiled nature, and a more than impressive waterfall with a backstory that involves a princess.

Montserrat, Caribbean

The lower two thirds of this place became devastated by cataclysmic eruptions of the Soufrière Hills Volcano in 1995. Before this happened, Montserrat was a carefree island paradise, famous as the birthplace of the late Alphonsus Cassell, who was the creator of the hit ‘Hot, Hot, Hot.’ It had some famous fans too; Sting and Eric Clapton were among the stars who recorded here. This modern day Pompeii is great for volcano day trips – Montserrat is growing again, and tourists are returning.

Penticton, British Columbia, Canada

Here in Penticton, you’ll be able to enjoy Wine vines and sandy shores, located between two lakes and surrounded by rolling mountains and welcoming vineyards. You can’t beat the scenic views, especially when it comes to the Kettle Valley Railway Trail. There are 40+ wineries that surround the town, perfect for wine lovers.

Horseshoe Bend, USA

This is one of the most famous stops along the Colorado River’s path through Arizona. Hiking the ridge to see the river 1,000 feet below is an incredible experience that just has to be done in person – no pictures will do this justice.

Mexico City, Federal District, Mexico

Here you’ll find a mix of old and new – and everything is regal and chaotic all at the same time.

There are tons of things to see, including the stunning Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral (one of the largest cathedrals in the world), Palacio de Bellas Artes, which showcases art, dance, and theatre, and Plaza de las Tres Culturas, which has ruins and structures like Aztec pyramids.

Whitehorse,Yukon Territory, Canada

Located in the Yukon, this town is at the crest of the some of the most breathtaking places in Canada; mostly Kluane National Park. This park contains the tallest peak in the country (Mount Logan) and offers views that you’ll never forget. You’ll also have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights in person here.

Crowsnest Pass, Canada

Crowsnest Pass is one of the most beautiful stops along Canada’s Continental Divide. There are a huge number of trails, rivers, lakes, and hills to explore, but if you’re not a huge fan of the outdoors you can also visit the area’s historic mines or enjoy the Aurora Borealis.

Cañón de la Angostura, Mexico

Magical is the only way to describe this place. Suspended boardwalks take you into a canyon wonderland of giant waterfalls and clear waters dotted with occasional rickety (but safe) ladders leading to hidden caves. You might find some treasure. It really is magical.

Mendenhall Ice Caves, USA

These ice caves are the stunning ice caves that are found under a 19 km long glacier in Alaska. The caves are spacious cavities in the blue ice. The warming climate, however, could eventually melt the whole glacier. The glacier is continuously melting and moving, which means it is changing its face all the time. It also makes it difficult and even dangerous to reach. However, once there, it definitely provides one of the most incredible sites you will have ever seen.

Here you have a vast expanse of sites you can visit all over North America, each beautiful in its own way with its very own character. The diversity of North America is incredible, and the scenery unforgettable. Of course there are so many more sites you can see all over, so don’t forget to do your own research and see if anything else jumps out at you. This is just our idea of what could be the best places for you to visit when you’re in the area.
