The Worst Things You Can Do to Your Skin
People tend to forget that our skin is an organ of our body and that it needs looking after just like any other organ. That are so many things you can do that will worsen the condition of the skin on your face and a lot of things you can do to improve it.
Don’t Pick Pimples
Every time you pick a spot or blemish you cause inflammation below your skin. This will make the spot worse and it is more likely to leave a scar. Bathe them gently with warm water and dab a little antiseptic on them to help kill any infection. Then leave them alone to heal in their own time.
Don’t Exfoliate Without A Break
Exfoliating is good for your skin but you can overdo it. Always use a good facial scrub, but not too much at a time. You could exfoliate every day for a week, and then not for the next week. The new skins cells will benefit from some great moisturizer of the type most suited to your skin. Put this on for the days you do not exfoliate to keep your skin looking its best.

Don’t Over Wash
Everyone wants his or her face to be clean but too much washing can make your skin dry and flaky. It will also leave it more prone to infections and will show the signs of aging such as lines and wrinkles. This is because each time you wash your face you strip some of its natural oils away. Perhaps wash it with soap every other day and on the in-between days use a gentle cleanser that will not destroy the oils.
Don’t Smoke
Smoking is not good for your skin. It will make it age prematurely and any wrinkles will be much worse. If you find it difficult to go without a cigarette, try vaping instead as that does not damage your skin. You can buy cheap vape mods in most places, so your pocket will benefit as well as your skin and your overall health. You’ll also have a greater variety of flavors to try out.
No Sunscreen, No Tan
Never go in the sun or on a sunbed without a good quality sunscreen. The UV rays can do a lot of damage to your skin, and the tan will not look so good if your face is looking lined and wrinkled because you did not bother to protect it. Apart from this, the rays can cause your skin cells to mutate, which results in skin cancer.
Don’t Neglect Your Skin
Your skin needs looking after if it is to stay looking healthy. Cleanse, tone, and moisturize is the norm for a daily skincare routine. Just make sure that every item you use is alcohol-free, to avoid the drying effects that this can have. Take extra care with the skin around your eyes. In this area, it is very thin and delicate and can be easily damaged.
The moisturizer you use at night should be one that is meant for use before you go to bed. Day creams and night creams do differ, and the night creams have additives to make sure your skin can heal itself while you are asleep.
We have all at some point seen someone who looks much younger than they actually are. This is because they have taken care of their skin, and not done any of the things they shouldn’t.
