Travel With Me To: Quincy Quarries Reservation

Last September, I decided to visit the Quincy Quarries Reservations because I kept seeing so many photos of it on Instagram.

Quincy is about a 30-40 minute drive from where I live. My boyfriend and I decided to visit this place in the morning. We left around 10AM on a Saturday morning. The traffic wasn’t too bad. It was pretty quick getting there. If we were to have gone on a weekday, then we would have been stuck in traffic.

There weren’t that many cars there. I only saw about 3 but that’s probably because it was early in the morning. Parking is free, or at least it was for us.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a hiking place, a place to walk your dogs and also a rock-climbing place. My boyfriend and I didn’t have the appropriate shoes to “rock climb” but we did climb on top of the rocks anyway. You can see Boston when you’re on top of the rocks and it’s honestly such a nice view. Climbing the rocks may be scary at first but the view is worth it. Definitely wear closed-toe shoes like sneakers because a lot of teenagers have parties here and leave their bottles all over the place. So this place does have a lot of broken glasses and cigarettes all over the place, so be careful!

But I do recommend this place especially if you love art. Seeing the graffiti on the rocks was mind blowing and just fun to see. I loved seeing all the designs each rock had and I was just in awe of how these people designed it.

I would be careful on where you walk because there are broken glasses and poop, and also a lot of flies and bugs (if you’re there in the summer). Overall, I think it’s just a beautiful place to visit. And during the “hike,” there are rocks and hills, so be careful when hiking. My boyfriend and I found sets of stairs to walk up and down (they were somewhat hidden so it may be hard to find) but if you don’t follow the path, it can be dangerous so look out where you’re walking.

At first, my boyfriend didn’t want to go but after seeing the graffiti and taking in all of the art, he actually enjoyed himself. I think we stayed for about an hour before leaving and traffic still wasn’t too bad when we left either.

We’ve also recently visited the place again last week. This is such a fun place to go to for photos, hiking and even rock climbing!
