Come with me to Junny’s Blanc Tour in New York 2023

So you guys may be familiar, but I had a really bad concert addiction back in the day, where I literally went to like four concerts every week all year long. All my money went straight to concerts, and then it died down during the pandemic because everything was closed and now that I feel a lot safer traveling and being surrounded by people to go to concerts, I have been going to more concerts lately, so come with me to Junny’s blanc tour in New York, 2023.

So Junny announced that he was only going to four cities in the US and one of them was New York. I missed his tour last year, so I was like, you know what? I’m gonna go to his tour this year and so I went to New York.

Because I had so many trips coming up, I decided not to get a hotel room. I decided to just take the bus there and then the train immediately after. Of course there was a five hour wait after his concert so I was in the waiting room for five hours or at least waiting for my train for five hours.

So after he announced his tour, I immediately bought tickets. I didn’t buy VIP or meet & greets just because I do have so many concerts coming up and just seeing his concert in general will just make me happy, so I booked the tickets and then the next day I booked the bus ticket to New York, and then the Amtrak train back to Boston. I told my sister about it a couple weeks later and she called me crazy in a joking kind of way, but I knew she was thinking that I was crazy but that’s fine.

So the days were approaching and I was so excited. I picked out an outfit and the day of, I did take work off. I slept in and then I woke up to do my makeup, to film Tiktok videos, which I will also link down for you guys, and then my sister dropped me off at South Station for me to take the bus to New York.

The bus driver was a little mean and I was a little intimidated, but by the end of the bus ride, he actually end up being nice and I thanked him for the ride and then I had already googled how to get to the venue so I knew what to do. I just had to buy my ticket to get on the train, which I did. I used cash and somebody asked me for money but I didn’t have anything smaller than a $10 bill and so I apologized. I was like, I’m so sorry I don’t have any dollar bills and thankfully he wasn’t mad. And then the train ride was only three stops and a six minute walk to the venue so it was fairly quick. And I felt safe walking there. There ended up being two other girls who were going to the concert too so I followed them haha. It was 15 minutes altogether.

I got to the venue at 6:45 PM. They didn’t check my bag, which I thought was super weird, but they did check my ID and then I went downstairs to the stage. And it reminded me of the Middle East downstairs and the Sinclair in Boston and Paradise rock club but smaller. There was a bar and it was very small. You can see the stage anywhere you stand, which was great because I’m super short so that was fine for me. The concert began at seven. I thought it was gonna start at 7:30 but it did start at seven. He had two opening acts.

The first one, her name was Irene. She was a Chinese American singer and you can tell her she was nervous. She was shaking and didn’t really engage with the crowd as much but she was so cute. I love her hair. Her hair is so long and reminds me Rapunzel but I thought she was very talented and then immediately after was the second opening act. Her name is RiRi. She’s Japanese and she was so cute and engaging with the audience. Very confident, I really adore her. I’m gonna go listen to her music on Apple Music And just listen to her because she was so cute and that she had an amazing voice and then for the next 20 minutes the DJ played music and everybody was dancing.

Everybody knew all the songs and then all of a sudden Junny came out. I really loved the concert because he was engaging with the audience. He would ask the audience questions and people would ask him questions that he would answer. He would take selfies with people. He would take peoples cell phones and make videos. He would even respond to people screaming at him like I love you and stuff like that. He even took requests of what songs and he even did like acappella and honestly this was my first time seeing him and he blew my expectations away because he was just so engaging with the audience. Honestly, I will definitely see him again. I am up such a huge fan of his and I really do hope he comes to Boston so that way I don’t have to pull an all nighter again but the concert was so worth it. He was on stage for a little over an hour and a half. He did try to meet fans after the show. he was signing autographs and taking selfies but after about 20 minutes, security said that he had to leave just for safety precaution so unfortunately I did not get to meet him, which it was really sad, but I thought it was so sweet that he tried to meet everybody and sign everything but the concert was great. He was so energetic. he was dancing around and talking to everybody and I swear we made eye contact. I don’t care what my sister said. I totally made eye contact with him.

And then after the concert, I did get lost getting back to Penn station because I wasn’t sure what train to take. I couldn’t tell what was outbound and inbound so I had to ask for help and then when I got to Penn station, I had no idea where the Amtrak was, so I literally spent an hour walking around and then finally, I gave up and sat on the ground and just stayed on my phone and the security went up to me was like do you need help? Are you here for the Amtrak because you’re in the wrong place. so it took me till 12 AM to realize I was in the wrong place and then I went to the correct place at Penn station and there was a waiting room, which I sat there until my train at 2:40am and I did not go to sleep at all on the train. I don’t know, I just can’t sleep during a moving vehicle and then I Uber home, answered some emails and went straight to sleep. I I don’t know if I plan on ever doing that again. It was a great experience but maybe one time thing, but in general, if you are contemplating about seeing Junny, I highly highly highly recommend. I can’t wait to see him again. Hopefully he comes to Boston.

Thanks for reading.
