Come with me to the keshi Concert in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 3/4/23

This was my first time seeing keshi so I was really excited. Not only was this my first time seeing him, it was also the opening night of his US tour, so I had really high expectations.

Unfortunately, it was a little disappointing and I’ll go in depth.

As many of you know, I am from Boston. So I flew to Miami, because the concert was originally going to be in Miami. I flew Frontier and let me just say, it will be my last time using Frontier because I cannot get over the baggage restrictions and then, them double checking the size of my bag. My flight was cheap so that’s why I bought it but they got me in baggage fees when they checked my bag and I had to pay $99.

Anyway, I arrived in Miami around 3:15 and immediately went to my airbnb to check in. I also ordered food along the way and the food was disappointing too. But the airbnb is basically a small studio room that seems to be attached to the main house, but separate entrance, bathroom included, etc.

I took my time getting ready and filming TikToks (feel free to check them out!). I was told by the venue online that doors opened at 7pm so I had time.

The venue was originally a 10 min drive from me. It was originally at the FPL Solar Amphitheater at Bayfront Park. But a few days before the concert, it got moved to Fort Lauderdale. The venue is now 30-40 min away from me so I decided to take the commuter rail instead of ubering straight there. The commuter rail was only $5 to Fort Lauderdale, where his venue got moved to. I ubered to the Miami Airport Station, which was only a five minute drive. Then, I took the train to Fort Lauderdale, which took about 35-40 min. And afterwards, I ubered to the venue. Doing all that saved me so much money because had I ubered straight there, it would have been $50! I think I spent $30 after tips.

Anyway, got to the venue and doors didn’t even open yet. People were still in line! There were hundreds of people, maybe even a thousand people. I had to walk all the way back to the end of the line because my Uber dropped me off at the front. I think I was in line for an hour! I didn’t even get into the venue until 8:15pm, and I arrived at the venue right before 7PM. I did talk to some people in line while waiting but ultimately, just kept to myself, anxiously waiting to get in.

After I got in through security, I immediately went to the bar and bought a coke and then, stood at the back of the venue. I basically stood in front of the wall and even sat down for a little while, because I really didn’t care about having a good view. I’m going to have fun and sing along regardless of my view and where my position is.

It was really hot but thankfully, where I stood, there was a fan so it helped with my sweating. My hair still stained my blouse, though. This is what I get for wanting red hair. The first opening act came on like 10-15 min after I got inside the venue so maybe around 8:30 or 8:40pm. To be honest, I wasn’t really paying attention to him and can’t even tell you what songs he performed! I was just so annoyed about how unorganized the concert was. I just wanted to see keshi perform on time!

The second opening act came on around 9:30pm and I was not paying attention either. I just sat down and read tweets about the concert and stayed near the fan. I talked a little bit to the people near me but ultimately, I was just chilling. I really didn’t feel like conversing because I was getting so tired from standing.

Keshi finally came around at 10:15ish and he didn’t even perform a full set. He skipped basically half his set so he was done right before 11. He had technical problems and his mic wasn’t properly working, but I still danced and sang my heart out. I wanted to make the most of it because I did travel all the way from Boston. I also saw some guy getting lost in the music and dancing and singing his heart out too. And that’s just my fave part of a concert – seeing people get lost in the music and having fun.

I left right before the last song to make it on time for my train. I probably could’ve stayed for the entire thing but I didn’t want to get stuck in the crowd so I left. And I took the Bright Line train back and it was one of the most amazing trains I’ve ever taken. The employees push carts down and ask if you want anything to eat or drink. Like an airplane. It was so cool! I was definitely not used to it and I think I might come back to Florida for the train stations haha.

Overall, the concert was underwhelming and disappointing but I still had a blast. It was a great first experience but I know he can do better.

Thanks for reading.

xoxo, Linda
