How To Style Your Face Mask

In the current pandemic climate, face masks are a must. Although it doesn’t really matter what your mask looks like, where you got it, or how you style it – they are around to stay. They are a function safety item, and with the CDC stating all Americans wear a face mask in public – it might just be time to work that face mask into your daily style.

We all have a personal style, and you can express that with the safety of a mask from https://www.covid-19-guard.com/. So, how do we style our face masks to give us optimal safety and protection, but look chic too?

New York designer Raffaella Hanley of Lou Dallas stepped out in a mask that had bows, patchwork, and even a lace trim! Provided that the integrity of the fabric remains intact, you can experiment with adding trim, beads, and more to the piping.

If you have a sewing machine, then adding soft lace won’t be too difficult, but adding bows and pearls is better done by hand. You can also use a hot glue gun to attach decals and more to the ribbons.

You could take the lead from Shirley Raines and bling your mask up with diamante details too. Safety doesn’t have to be dull, you can bling it up and stay healthy too.

Designer

As well as ensuring that you have a mask with enough protection, you can play around with designer fabrics and labels. Jenny Walton made a face mask out of a beautiful dusty rose pink Prada dust bag. Although she spends most of her time making masks for the Masks4Medicine cause, the Prada one makes a statement. Even this stunning mask had an insert space for a filter to be inserted.

If you have a range of silk scarves, dust bags, or any lengths of designer fabric, you can make a mask with space for a filter and head out in style.

Accessories

While a face mask is a must, you have control over the color and style. Just like your handbags, jewelry, and sunglasses, there is room to match your outfit. In the midst of a pandemic, there is a lot that is no longer within our control.

However, taking your favorite outfits and styling them slightly differently to incorporate a face mask can lighten the tension.

And, just like other accessories, purchase a range of masks. Have a set that works with your everyday go-to shoes and bag and some sleeker options for when more places open, and you can head out for dinner.

In the end, just like taking a multivitamin, morning yoga, or a regular dentist appointment, safety is paramount – you build this into your daily life to stay well. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t free to express your creativity, create new looks, and be inspired by a range of designers to think outside the box. Ensure that your mask fits correctly, use the manufacturers sizing as a guide, and have fun with styling it up.
