A good skincare routine should be consistent. You must continuously do things to your skin to help it remain healthy and beautiful. Regardless of your specific skincare concerns, you should do things every day, week, and month that’ll make a serious difference. First of all, you should have a daily skincare routine! You need one if you want your skin to look its best and be as healthy as can be. Every routine should look like this: 

  • Cleanse – Use a gentle cleanser to remove impurities from your skin, keeping it clean and smooth.  
  • Tone – Apply a good toner to hydrate your skin and improve how it absorbs other skincare products. 
  • Serums/Treatments – Before moisturizing, add any serums or treatments to tackle specific problems like acne, wrinkles, etc. 
  • Moisturize – Use whatever type of moisturizer is the best for your skin. Dry skin lends itself to oil-based moisturizers while oily skin is better suited to water-based ones. 
  • Eye Care – Apply a treatment under your eyes to stop those pesky bags from appearing. 
  • SPF – Always end your skincare routine with SPF to protect it from the sun’s UV rays. Be sure you use a proper SPF moisturizer with at least 30 SPF protection. 

All of these steps must be completed in order twice a day – apart from SPF. You can skip that part for your nightly skincare routine as you’re not going outside! 

Weekly Skincare Tips

While your daily skincare routine shouldn’t change, you can add a couple of things to it once or twice a week: 

  • Exfoliate – Don’t do this more than 3 times a week. It will be too abrasive and damage your skin. One of the worst things you can do for your skin is exfoliate without taking breaks!  
  • Wear A Mask – This offers another deep clean for your skin and can be done once a week if you like. Utilize it on a Friday for a nice relaxing end to your week. 
  • Change Your Pillowcase – Get into the habit of swapping out your pillowcase every week. This ensures you aren’t laying your face to rest on a pillow full of bacteria and dead skin!
