Underlying Signs Of Feeling Stressed And How You Can Overcome Them

We can all get to a point in our lives where we feel a little stressed and anxious. It might have much to do with work, such as deadlines to be met or added responsibility. It could be to do with your finances, your lifestyle or relationships. No matter how hard you try, we can all succumb to the feelings of stress and in turn they can make is feel sad and even depressed. However, there are underlying signs you are stressed that you may not notice. So here are some of the signs and the ways you can overcome them. Helping you to feel more in control of life day to day.

Pain

Would you believe that pain in your muscles, such as your back, can be caused by added tension in your body? When you are stressed, you are more likely to tense up, grit your teeth, stand with bad posture, and generally make your body sense up. Doing this for long periods of time then can cause your muscles to hurt, and one of the obvious places is your back. Back pain is uncomfortable and if you start to notice it niggle more often it could be time to see a chiropractor to help alleviate the tension and pain in your back. If you notice your body tensing up, try and distinguish what has caused it. This is likely to be your causer of feeling stressed, and once you know, you can take steps to overcome it.

Anxious and intrusive thoughts

Believe it or not, we can’t really control our minds as much as what we would like to. Our thoughts can run away with themselves, especially if we feel threatened and stressed. Have you ever noticed that in certain “stressful” situations, your mind and body gets a little anxious? You then start to think about scenarios that may not even happy, you worry, you become aware of everything? These are intrusive thoughts, and they can often be a symptom of anxiety as well as stress-related situations. A great tip is to be aware of them, and to start questioning your thoughts so they don’t become a worry. Ask yourself what evidence there is to support the worried thought you have just had?

Low energy and low mood

Stress can affect us in many different ways, but one of the most surprising is our moods and energy levels. If we feel stressed by a certain situation, for example, the workplace, then you may feel low energy towards getting up for work in the morning. A low mood when you walk through the door, and simply the feeling of not wanting to be bothered. We can all be affected in this way, and if you start to notice the signs it could be that the thing causing you to feel this way needed to be addressed and changed.

Finally, if you always feel like you are getting ill, susceptible to colds and flu like symptoms. Or if you find that you have headaches, feel tired, or just can’t sleep, then again these can all be underlying signs that you are stressed in some way. The main question to ask yourself is how you are feeling today? Could you spot the signs? Let’s hope highlighting them enables you to feel less stressed in the future.
