Demerits of smoking

Smoking is credited with the development of different types of cancers, which include lung cancer, cancer of the kidney, pancreatic cancer, and cancer of the bladder. Lung cancer treatment is very common among smokers. Smoking is known to reduce stamina and deprive smokers of the much-needed energy and enthusiasm. Many cardiovascular disorders are associated with smoking. Many heart-related disorders are also tied to smoking. Additionally, research shows that life expectancy for smokers is much lower compared to that of non-smokers. Smokers also suffer from memory loss and poor concentration. Therefore, it is quite plain to see that smoking is no good for the body.

The process of setting a timeline for quitting smoking is not as easy as it sounds. If it takes you longer to quit smoking then you’d like, then so be it – getting there in the end is all that matters. The body will never bend to do what is unrealistic. Furthermore, only you can develop your own timeline. Everybody is different and you know your own body, so don’t merely copy the first one you find online, although taking inspiration is fine.  

You may want to start by reducing your frequency of smoking to every five hours. Baby steps are very important. People who are prone to smoking after taking meals would do well by replacing this past time with some other activities that are more beneficial to the body. Consider your most stressful period of the day, don’t deem this time to be a period of giving up smoking from the start go. It will be too difficult.

Before embarking on your timeline you must ready yourself physically and mentally. You must set your mind and be determined to see the plan to completion. If you don’t 100 per cent want to give up smoking then you never will.
