Don’t Let Stress Deny You A Full, Enjoyable Life

Stress is something that we need from time to time. It’s a response that tells us that we need to get out of danger – or avoid something in the environment.

But stress also occurs for another reason in humans: it’s a response to the story that we tell ourselves about our lives.

For instance, suppose that you’re working really hard and then your manager adds another job for you to do to your calendar. It seems stressful because we then assume that we have to get the work done, otherwise we won’t survive.

The thinking goes something like this. “My boss just gave me another mountain of work. If I don’t get all this work done on time, I could lose my job. If I lose my job, I’ll be destitute and out on the streets and my life will be terrible.”

Do you see what’s happening here? Something small, like being given an extra project to do, has transformed into an enormous problem that winds up with you having to live on the streets.

The trick here is to change your thought processes. In this post, we take a look at some of the things that you can do to change your approach to life so you can stop feeling so stressed all the time and really enjoy yourself.

Look For Opportunities

The first thing to do is to reframe how you think about “failures.” Let’s say, for instance, that you’re stressed out because you might lose your job. People who believe that there is only one job that they could do in the entire world will view this as a disaster. But low-stress individuals will just see the process of leaving one job as an opportunity to find another better job down the road. In the long-term, it could actually be a good thing.

Remind Yourself That Your Problems Are Small

Nobody likes to talk about dying, and so we ignore it. But compared to that, every problem that you have in your life is small. It’s worth remembering that the next time you feel stressed or anxious about something.

Have Some Self-Worth

Going through life feeling stressed all the time saps you of energy and joy, and makes life an endless chore. It’s worth, therefore, reminding yourself that you deserve better from your existence.

Take Time Out

Sites like bloomfarmswellness.com are big advocates of taking time out. And you should be too. Just giving yourself a few hours each week where you have unbridled permission to enjoy yourself can radically change your outlook on things. A day of fun without any guilt can set you up for a productive week and make you feel less stressed, according to inc.com

Change Your Habits

Lastly, you’ll want to try changing your habits so that the fallout when things go wrong is less. Don’t spend money on things that you can’t afford, for instance. Instead, look for ways to improve your financial position slowly over time. Likewise, try to avoid bad relationships and get into the company of good people. In other words, rig things in your favor.

Find Things That Help You Cope

Different people have different ways of coping and avoiding feelings of stress. If you haven’t yet found anything that helps you to refocus and keep feelings of stress at bay, that’s something that you should try to work on. It might be a simple case of stepping back and trying some breathing exercises to regain your calm. Some people find that cannabis and THC products such as Delta 8 Gummies can help a lot with keeping stress at bay.
