Ojai Sugar Body Lotion and Body xFoliant Review

A lot of you guys remember my Ojai Sugar post and well, I’m bringing them back and reviewing more posts! For those of you who want to know the brand, you can read my previous posts. But basically, just the name says,they are based out of Ojai, California. The founder, Bernadette King is California native and has lived in Ojai for thirty-five years. She was always interested in skincare and how to maintain one’s health inside and out with a minimalist approach–less is best. The mission: clean, natural skincare. Since 2010.

I got to try out two of their products, the body xfoliant and the body lotion.

For the body xFoliant, these are no ordinary body scrubs. The formula does not require you to mix the oil as you use the product. The blend has the same composition from top to bottom; does not separate oil from sugar, is fluffy and light yet sticks to the skin when applied for the best results–super smooth, soft to the touch skin. The scent, therapeutic benefits, appearance, texture and application were all held to a very high standard. Their unique formula and artisanal blends of therapeutic grade essential oils have made Ojai Sugar a very popular body x-foliant beyond our little hamlet in Ojai, CA.

I chose the scent citrus. This “Happy” blend of citrus notes has its roots deep in the Ojai Valley. Clean and bright. Sunshine in a jar. Essential oils: pink grapefruit, orange, lemon, petitgrain, tangerine. Moisturizing oils: almond, coconut, and grapeseed. Their base formula includes organic pumpkin seed butter for a texture that truly envelops the skin with moisture.

I’ve been using this xfoliant a couple times a week. I don’t use it every day, more so every other day. Basically, you use this in the shower. I wait until my body/skin is wet or slightly wet and then I apply the xfoliant on my legs and arms because those tend to get extremely dry during the winter. I just treat it like soap and just use it to make my skin feel softer.

I adore the scent. It smells amazing, fruity and just soothing. After I shower and dry my body, my skin feels amazing. The xfoliant doesn’t irritate my skin and it’s not harsh. My skin reacts just fine when I use the product and it feels even better after I use it. I’d say it works for sensitive skin since I have sensitive skin and it doesn’t hurt.

As for the body lotion, their lotions are a great compliment to the body xfoliants. A lotion minus the synthetic ingredients that can harm our skin. 100% natural with organic plant materials. A lotion that will nourish and replenish. Their lotions are weighted with more oil than water. I received the Neroli Luxe Body Lotion. Neroli–it is the name given to the oil extracted from the fragrant white flower blossoms of bitter orange trees. Its scent is refreshing, light, honeyed and somewhat metallic with green and spicy facets. Ingredients: Neroli Floral Water, Organic Aloe Vera, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Almond Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Meadowfoam Oil, Pumpkin Seed Butter, Vegetable Based Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate Sorbitan Olivate, Cetyl Alcohol, *Leucidal® (fermented radish root preservative), Essential oils of Neroli, Blood Orange from Sicily and Pink Grapefruit.

This smells amazing! It smells somewhat fruity and it’s not too strong. I apply this lotion twice a day, once in the morning and at night after I shower. I typically shower at night. When I apply it on in the morning, it makes my skin moisturized and soft. It feels so smooth and amazing! And even after I shower, it still feels amazing. The lotion just glides onto my skin and the formula is somewhat lightweight so I don’t even feel the product. It smells amazing and my skin looks even more amazing.

In general, I love these two products.
