The past year and a half has been a tough time for the majority of us. The coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic has spread across the world, causing huge changes to our day to day lives. In an attempt to minimise and slow the spread of the virus, governments in the majority of countries implemented stay at home, social distancing and lockdown orders, encouraging everyone to stay within their own four walls until absolutely necessary. One major aspect of life that has drastically changed is travel, with many countries closing their borders or limiting access across their borders. Of course, now, vaccines are being rolled out around the world and life is getting back to normal. Many of us feel that we need a holiday or getaway. However, some countries still aren’t allowing travel and some of us just aren’t quite ready to jump back on a plane yet. The good news is that camping is a great option. Here’s some more information to plan your camping trip!

Why Camping?

Camping can be a good option for those who want a getaway but don’t want to come into close contact with too many people yet. It can also be good for those whose countries are still strict with travel. You can get away from home, immerse yourself in the outdoors, spend quality time with friends and family in a fun way without having to go very far!

Planning Your Trip

To plan your trip, you’re going to need to focus on a few factors. First, who is going. If you have young children, a monitored and secure campsite with home comforts like electricity, toilets and showers is best. If not, you could consider camping in approved outdoor spaces. Next, decide where you’re going. There are countless local beauty spots out there. Just make sure that where you choose isn’t private land and doesn’t have any dangerous wild animals in the area.

Packing

So, what will you need to go camping? Here are just a few starting points for a comfortable and enjoyable trip.

  • A tent – you’re going to need shelter. So, invest in a good tent. Sure, it may be tempting to choose the cheapest you can find. But you’ll have a much better time if you ensure that it’s secure, waterproof and big enough for you and your family.
  • Sleeping bags – next, what are you going to sleep in? A good sleeping bag can keep you warm and cosy through the night. If you want extra comfort, consider an air mattress too.
  • Safety kits – it’s good to have first aid, medical and safety kits – just in case. Your first aid kit should be fully stocked with plasters, bandages, antiseptic wipes, eyewashes and more. Basic medication is a good idea too. You may also want extras like soothing gel packs from accurategelpacks.com.
  • Plenty of clothes – you never know when you’ll get rained on, muddy or otherwise need a change of clothes. Take plenty of clothes. Especially waterproofs and socks.

Camping could prove to be just what you need right now. Hopefully the above guidance will help you plan your trip well!
