How to Feel More Comfortable While Pregnant

Oh, pregnancy is a joy, isn’t it? The ability to grow a human being from scratch and see the result after ten months is wonderful, but honestly, getting there can be a slog. By the time you hit the third trimester the discomfort is very real and as you count down those weeks, you should consider making sure that you are doing all that you can to be as comfortable as possible.

From getting the help of the Webster Technique to joining a prenatal yoga class, you can maneuver your body to be more comfortable. Your body is going to need to get through the aches and pains so that when the birth comes around, you feel strong and able to go through childbirth. If you aren’t feeling too comfortable, you need to make some simple changes to be as comfortable as possible. So, with that in mind, let’s look at how you can make adjustments to be more comfortable.

  • Get a pregnancy pillow to support yourself. A pillow can be a game changer and there are so many options for pregnant people. Long sausage pillows are going to be supportive around your hips, knees and back. You’ll also find that U-shaped pillows are going to be comfortable when you are sitting upright. Pillows everywhere can get in the way but your body will thank you!
  • Get an exercise ball. You need to get your hips and pelvis as comfortable as possible and to do that, you need an exercise ball. You can sit on this to improve your posture and relieve the undue pressure on your body. Your bump will thank you and your body will adjust to the shape of the ball, which will help you to move your hips in more than one direction. You can then keep your lower half as mobile as possible and this will mean less discomfort.
  • Belly band that belly. A belly band can help massively when it comes to pregnancy discomfort. It’s designed to support the bump so it doesn’t feel so weighty, improving your posture, balance and making sure there are no aches and pains. You’ll also find that you don’t feel that constant need to pee as the pressure on your bladder is alleviated.
  • Prenatal yoga stretches. We talked about this earlier but prenatal yoga can and will make a huge difference to you when pregnant. Stretching regularly will help you to relax and keep your body supple. Opening up your hips and helping you to focus better will be the outcome when you engage in pregnancy yoga,
  • Don’t stay still. Comfort comes when you move your body more and while it may be the last thing you want to do, you should move somewhat so that you can feel comfortable. Going for walks, swimming and feeling that buoyancy and really keeping your body and blood flowing will help you to feel better.

Pregnancy is never going to be fully comfortable, but it’s going to pass eventually. Enjoy it while you can.
