There’s nothing better than capturing the perfect moment with your camera and being able to share it with everyone to appreciate. Sometimes these moments pop up out of nowhere and it’s literally a grab your camera moment. However, sometimes picture opportunities allow time for you to plan the perfect shot, and there are many different things that you could do to make your picture turn out better than just simply snapping the photo. Check out this list of photography hacks that will make your photos look like you’re a professional.

Lens shapes

We’ve all seen those wonderful insta photos where someone has managed to capture a photo of lights that are shaped in a particular way. This is achieved by using black card to cover your camera lens, and cutting out the shape of your choice. So for example, if you wanted to snap a shot of your fairy lights in your garden, cut out the shape that you desire and pop it onto your camera to achieve a super cool effect!

Get an aerial view

Capturing your pictures from different angles gives you the chance to really show off the scenery and also create a picture that will catch the eye. Use something like a Gopro Drone to achieve the height that you desire and then simply snap your photo! Perfect for large group shots or even if you find the scenery particularly stunning.

Use your laptop

Ever been frustrated when trying to create an image to use on your website or social media accounts because you simply can’t get the right backdrop? It’s now a problem of the past as you can simply cover a piece of card in aluminium foil, lay it on your keyboard, and find an image on your laptop that you like as a backdrop. The foil will reflect the image and the fact that your laptop is backlit will give you amazing lighting for your picture!

Create your own lens flares

Have you ever seen those photos where the photographer has managed to create a glare on the photo without any editing? This is easily achieved by using items around your home to reflect light off and effect your picture. Using something like a cd disk or even again, aluminium foil can create this effect and have your photos looking super professional in no time.

No tripod? No problem!

There’s nothing worse than trying to snap a steady shot without a tripod, and if you’ve forgotten it, what is your solution? If you’re a woman there’s a chance that you will have a bun maker lying around your bag somewhere. If not, they are super cheap at many stores. Pop your phone in the hole of the bun maker for a steady shot!

Try these fabulous photography hacks to help achieve pro photos and up your photography game!
